Midurethral Sling Procedures

Stress urinary incontinence can now be treated through a minimally invasive day surgery called a midurethral sling. A tiny vaginal incision is made, along with two small abdominal or groin incisions. A thin piece of synthetic tape is placed under the bladder neck. The incisions are then closed. Relief from incontinence is immediate. Although women can return to most activities immediately, they are advised to do no heavy lifting for 6 weeks.
